Series review: Never have i Ever

Never have I Ever (season 1)

A movie fantasizer always searches to watch their own movie type ,like the taste they have on it,just pretty usual .But what addiction NETFLIX throw to their users is to insist them to watch all kinds of movies even in their study time! Yeah,and  like all those trending movies in Bangladesh ,this starstrucked series was on top 2 and I was literally hooked on it! Wait , its better to go with crime fiction ,thrilling and marvel type movies which I typically watch in my freaking routineless time rather than watching icky teen drama  ,but I really fall in love with those 30 min  series of 10 episodes each while I was adding few movies on my wish list for the next movie watch time .

 

One hell glimpse of the whole series was all about an Indian American sophomore high schooler  teen devi vishwakumar who is struggling to cope with her unintentional dilemmatic situations ,her fathers unusual death during her harp recital ,her desire to study in Princeton ,out of her mind when it comes about her emotions and yes the most important stuff, deal with Paxton hall Yoshida ! .well as its all about teenage comedy ,dream achieving purposes and all that ,so I will rate it 8.2/10 .moreover, her overprotective Indian mother Nalini,CALtech PHd cousin kamala, 2 best buddies ,literature ,theater,drama nerd elanore and robot nerd Fabiola and her nemesis ben,the opponent and competent of devi  on their every ECs and academics. In the middle of my spoiler alerting review, you will discover ben’s part . A teenage life must not   only full with fun, enjoyment , ECs, studies and all that, but also with the problems and situations they have to struggle that cant be expressed to their parents !

Devi’s father was a very happy man who loves to spread positivity ,a vibrant kind of person who used to love his  daughter more than anything.but when devi was doing her  orchestra recital  ,her father caught heart attack and died  and this caused her to have a breakdown and lose in her legs and collapse. The character is still shown through flashbacks and is continually referenced throughout the series.but nope, she later recovered by miracle .Ben gross ,being an all time opponent of devi in academics and ECs which made them a nemesis of each other. Devi pleaded that sophomore year will be their year  .

Devi couldn’t resist herself from dreaming about Paxton and gave a very unusual proposal to Paxton . And do u what , PAXTON accepted ! But that really didn’t happened between devi and Paxton, but it got rumored in the whole Sherman oaks high school which was actually spreaded by her nemesis ben gross when they went in DC Davis for model UN . Everyone just belived that Paxton deflowered devi but in truth , nothing happened  between them. Devi is more flowered than a rose parade float!

Paxton invites devi in his party but saw her admirer with zoe, meanwhile drunk Devi sees a coyote at the party, and believing it has the spirit of her dead dad, she talks to it. It attacks her, and Paxton takes her to the hospital which gave devi a very emotional thought bout Paxton.

 Well, the next episode bought a different vibe ,devi felt  like a super Indian  when her family was attending an Indian traditional  ceremony which is associated with her highschool .

 She got dressed like a south indian , and prayed in a very silly manner that she aims to get accepted into her dream college. Ron , a millionaire  college councilor and advisor who don’t even count Cornell and Penn as ivy leagues . he owes a tesla and married to an indian woman who visited in their puja too .nalini said  Devi to smooth-talk Ron, but devi damn cared it ! that easily depicts that devi is quite confident on her stats.

Devi was having very hard times with Paxton as he didn’t wanted these stuffs to be rumored. This made devi  very tempestuous behaviour  over her besties. Elanor and Fabiola over their friendship but still care about devi ( you know how the real besties are! ). Devi grapples with her unresolved trauma . a party at bens turn out to be awfully awkward and amazing! Nalini didn’t wanted devi to visit at bens party ,so she gave kamala the duty to guard devi so she cant flee and went to see musical waitress ! Aaahhhh..damn it , devi caught kamala with steve and blackmailed her to let her go to bens big fat birthday party!that was a truly awful and she messed up with  Elanor  again and fall in to the swimming pool !.......Paxton helped her ,gave his  jacket and dropped her at her home !

 

Aahhh…

So next morning , kamalas fiancé,MIT educated engineer Prashant  is coming to see them and Nalini is prepping for the next day!  But everything got disarrayed  .Nalini took her decision to go back india after one of her aunt advises to leave US and stay permanently in india ! but holy s* devi don’t wanna leave US and she just fled from her house after and epic blowout with her mom ! aghhh …she is messed up with Paxton ,her best friends. And the only person remaining is ben! Bens parents were asking few questionnaire  about devi as previously a  Greek foreigner exchange student tried to rob their house .devi said she will do neither and got her invitation to live in a rock and roll guest room.She started to live in bens house and thinking to work with Rebecca ,paxton’s sister to become financially independent as her mother and kamala will left for india . devis mother  visited in bens place for devi . before they leave,for india ,she wants to  scatter the ashes of her father , but devi thought it’s a  trap of her mother and she won't fall in to it ! but her mother really wanted to do it with her daughter ,go to malibu(most favorite place for summer vacation of Nalini and mohan)  and scatter the ashes of her father . her mom left for malibu with kamala and then devi realized that she must have listened to her mom and go to malibu to scatter her fathers ashes  . that was too late then . but she somehow insisted ben to rode 70 miles to fulfill her moms wish ! they reached malibu beach at the exact time and devi apologizes Nalini for her ungracious ,impolite and harsh behavior. Devi convince herself when she remember those flashbacks and memories of her father ! she returns to the road isle and found bens car still standing there, ben thought whether she would be okay or not that’s why he stayed !.this made devi too sloppy for ben . so, what do you think will devi choose Paxton or Ben?

 well, i fall in love with the background musics which picturesque some real life events of mine too.  let me suggest you some like wild- monogem ,boys like you -kids at midnight,shape - julia shapiro , waking up -sorry girls.but unfortunately all the background musics are not available on youtube .  The series is mostly narrated by professional tennis player John McEnroe for Devi, with one of the episodes narrated by Andy samburg for Ben and another by Gigi hadid for Paxton.
